Massey Theatre
The Massey Theatre opened in 1949 as British Columbia’s largest theatre at the time, with 1,260 seats. Since then, it has hosted thousands of performances and become a key cultural venue for music, dance, theatre, and more, featuring Canadian and international artists. It supports emerging artists, community groups, and creative residencies, welcoming over 100,000 visitors and more than 200 events each year.
A recent 57,000-square-foot expansion has created Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces, a new home for the arts of the future. This addition supports experimentation, digital arts production, and community practice, offering expanded programming and opportunities for a diverse range of artists, groups, and stakeholders to activate the space in innovative ways.
