AUDITION NOTICE

Theatre Conspiracy is recasting Foreign Radical for a run in Calgary. Contract period is Jan. 7-21, 2018.

Foreign Radical is a participatory show for 30 audience members, which investigates privacy, security and racial/ethnic profiling. The show won the 2015 Critics Choice Innovation Prize at the Jessies in 2015 and an Edinburgh Fringe First award in 2017. See the Conspiracy website (conspiracy.ca) for more info.

Open to both Equity and non-Equity actors. Compensation at Equity rates plus travel, accommodation, and per diem.

Rehearsal will take place in Calgary Jan. 7-16 with shows ­­­at High Performance Rodeo Jan. 17-20.  Travel dates are departure Jan. 7, returning Jan. 21.

The Host

Male/female/non-gender specific 25-55. Highly physical. Exceptional improv skills. Preference given to actors fluent in Cantonese, Farsi, Arabic or other languages.

The Host guides the audience through the show through direction, questions, games and debate.

Hesam

Male/non-gender specific 25-55. Preference given to actors fluent in Farsi, Arabic, African or South Asian languages. Nudity in one scene.

Mainly a dramatic role with some participatory work.


Auditions to be held in Vancouver at Carousel Theatre on Granville Island on Nov. 17 and 24, 2017.
