3. You can request a blogger to come out to see your shows:

Email us at info@gvpta.ca with details of your production, including which date(s) you’d like to offer two tickets for a blogger, and we’ll do our best to get someone out to cover your show. Details about our blog are on the Resident bloggers page.

4. You’ll have priority to advertising spots on the Vancouver Theatre Guide:

We’ll soon create advertising spots on our recently updated Vancouver Theatre Guide that you can purchase if you’ve got something to promote to the theatre-going community – the website gets around 12,000 visitors each month! For now, see number 8 below for details on listing productions on the new site. And watch for announcements in coming months about the availability of advertising spots. As a member, you’ll have priority and discounts to purchase them.

5. You can attend our Annual General Meeting.

Once the date is set each year, it will be listed on our Events page.

Additionally, organizations (Companies and Affiliates) benefit from the following:

6. Your organization will be listed on our website:

All current Company and Affiliate members get public acknowledgement as a member and partner in our mission of strengthening the local theatre industry by being listed on our Member Companies page.

7. You’ll get free publicity of your news through a mention on our website and in our e-newsletter:

If you’ve got news to share, send it to us at news@gpvta.ca and we’ll include it in our bi-weekly email newsletter, Casting the Net, as well as in the News section of our website, which is featured on the homepage.

Examples of news for the website: upcoming auditions, job or volunteer opportunities, professional development events, calls for submissions. Note that press releases for productions are not included in the News section; productions can instead be listed in the Vancouver Theatre Guide (see number 8, below).

Casting the Net will continue to include all submitted member news including a mention of shows opening soon.

8. Company members will receive one free listing per season on the Vancouver Theatre Guide plus discounts on additional listings:

You may have noticed we recently gave the Vancouver Theatre Guide a facelift! It was time to update its look and functionality. And now it’s time to offer our members free publicity to around 12,000 people a month – all Company members are entitled to one free listing during the season (September 1, 2016 – August 31, 2017).

In addition, members will receive a discounted rate for all listings during the season:

One listing* per season:

·         Member companies = FREE!

All other listings per season:

·         Member companies = $20 each listing

·         Non-members = $40 each listing

*Note: A listing is equal to one entry on the Vancouver Theatre Guide. It can be a single show or a festival with a single date range. If you’d like advice on how to best use your one free listing during the season, email us at membership@gvpta.ca.

Bonus for all members: GVPTA news for members

We occasionally send our members emails with news we think they’d be interested in, including announcements of upcoming events and initiatives. We know not everyone can get to reading our weekly Casting the Net e-newsletter, so we send emails with the subject “GVPTA news for members,” usually before the information goes out to the general public.

For instructions how to become a member, as well as answers to frequently asked questions about membership, see our Membership page.
