The Port Theatre Society

125 Front Street, Nanaimo, B.C., V9R 6Z4

The Port Theatre Society is a charitable not-for-profit organization that, along with the City of Nanaimo, co-manages the Port Theatre, a community performing arts centre in the heart of Nanaimo on Central Vancouver Island. The theatre is a rental venue which serves as a home for many professional arts organizations, promoters, and community groups. Situated on Canada’s western edge, the theatre is a strategically important stop on the touring circuit where many national tours either begin or end their journey.

In addition to supporting our rental clients, The Port Theatre Society has earned a national reputation for its acclaimed Spotlight Series which presents Canadian and internationally renowned artists. At the heart of the Spotlight Series is a passion to create access to diverse and authentic experiences for our audiences. These include evening performances inside the theatre, morning coffee concerts, and school shows for young audiences.
