The Arts Club Theatre Company seeks to fill a role in Rebecca Northan's Spontaneous Theatre's production of Blind Date, directed by Rebecca Northan.
About the Performance:
Experience all the exhilaration and excitement of new love as Mimi goes on a blind date with a different man every night—plucked right out of the audience! Straight from sold-out runs in New York, London’s West End, and Toronto, this fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants fusion of clown, improv, theatre, and social experiment is sure to make you fall in love with Mimi and celebrate her audience-member-turned-Romantic-Hero!
Role(s): Ensemble Member / Understudy Mimi / Lead Clown Improviser
Role Description: Woman (trans or cis)
- Minimum 10 years improv experience
- Strong grasp of Johnstone theories & practise an asset, but not essential
- Strong actor
- Good team player
- Experience with audience participation an asset
- Willing to travel (in the event of future bookings)
- Some clown experience (not essential)
Audition Requirements: Actor will be asked to improvise in a few key scenes from Blind Date. There will also be a short interview.

Timeline: Rehearsals begin on November 19, 2018, running at the Goldcorp Stage, followed by a tour of the GVRD, until February 3, 2019.
