World Theatre Day 2012
Celebrate an experience worth remembering!
Let's WORK TOGETHER to get the word out to our communities about
the EXCITEMENT of experiencing LIVE THEATRE.
Here's how you can help:
Theatres:
- Create a special offer for audiences to experience theatres and advertise it with one of two custom buttons, which can be be downloaded here or here. Please feel free to use them everywhere you want to support World Theatre Day, and be sure to tell the GVPTA about it by emailing info@gvpta.ca.
Artists:
- Organize something surrounding how theatre is created, received, experienced, continued, enjoyed, explored, or innovated. Create a performance, organize a flash mob, have a gathering, and read the World Theatre Day Message (not yet released, but we'll post it as soon as we can!). Be sure to tell the GVPTA about it by emailing info@gvpta.ca.
- Submit an entry to the 3-day World Theatre Day Video Contest on March 2. Theme and precise prize information to follow soon.
- Write an essay (Deadline February 29, 2012): Could this next generation of theatre-makers be a Generation Without Borders? What role can theatre play in replacing old divisions with a vibrant interdependence?
Audiences:
- GO SEE some theatre! Watch for the special offer buttons in theatres' materials and in the Vancouver Theatre Guide.
- Submit an entry to the 3-day World Theatre Day Video Contest on March 2. Theme and precise prize information to follow soon.
- Vote Vote Vote! Your favorite entry in the 3-day World Theatre Day Video Contest Could be the winner! Voting begins March 5.
