Hoarse Raven Theatre (Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, Angels in America I & II, Corpus Christi) plans to tickle your funny-bone with two critically acclaimed English comedies from Britain's premiere playwright, Alan Bennett (Habeas Corpus, The Madness of King George). Originally written for the BBC, the 'Talking Heads' series is a collection of comic monologues reflecting Mr. Bennett's marvelously observant view of the British way of life. Two of the series are presented here.
A Lady of Letters follows Irene Ruddock - passionate letter writer and concerned citizen - as she avidly campaigns to single handedly to clean up the moral decay of Great Britain.
Her Big Chance features Leslie, an ever optimistic aspiring actress, somewhat past her prime, who truly embraces the adage "There are no small parts, only small actors!”
Under the direction of Michael Fera (Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, Salt Water Moon, Hedwig and the Angry Inch ), Jessie nominated actress Tanja Dixon-Warren (Angels in America, Molly Sweeney, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The L Word, Supernatural) performs in two of her very favorite roles.
