GVPTA Advocacy Toolkit
The GVPTA wants to support you in mobilizing your audience to protest the cuts to the Arts in BC. To that end we’ve put together some resources for you to pull from when you’re putting together your campaign. These are some of the things you might do:

Distribute "CREATIVITY COUNTS" pins and postcards
The Alliance for Arts and Culture has created an excellent advocacy toolkit, including postcards, bookmarks, pins and a widget you can place on your website. Go to http://creativitycounts.wordpress.com/
In Lobby Postcard Writing Campaign
We suggest that you have "Creativity Counts" postcards on hand in your lobby and encourage audience members to write personalized notes on them while they are in the lobby either pre-show, intermission or post-show. You can provide stamps or request that audience members purchase them. Then mail them at the end of each performance.
OTHER RESOURCES
Many other excellent resources are also available on the Alliance for Arts and Culture website: allianceforarts.com/advocacy-toolkit
and on Arts Advocacy BC's website: www.artsadvocacybc.ca/
GVPTA Members are encouraged to submit samples of their own curtain speeches and/or ads they have used in house programs that others can use. Please send any ideas or suggested materials to Sue Porter.
